Ranch Hand
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Ranch Hand to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the ranch, ensuring the health and safety of livestock, and supporting farm infrastructure. Your enthusiasm and hands-on approach will contribute to a thriving agricultural environment where animal care, equipment maintenance, and land management are key priorities. Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care and handling of livestock, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring
- Operate heavy machinery such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and basic mechanical knowledge
- Manage irrigation systems and support crop or pasture growth through horticultural practices and greenhouse management when applicable
- Supervise or collaborate with other team members on tasks related to animal husbandry, fencing, land clearing, and facility upkeep
- Conduct inspections of farm infrastructure including fences, barns, water systems, and machinery to ensure safety and functionality
- Assist with animal handling activities involving horses or other livestock species while adhering to best practices in animal husbandry
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in farm or ranch settings is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, welding, and maintenance tasks
- Hands-on experience with animal husbandry, animal care procedures, and livestock handling techniques
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and irrigation systems safely
- Familiarity with farming practices including crop cultivation, greenhouse work, horticulture, and growing techniques
- Knowledge of basic math for measurements, calculations related to land management or feed rations
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing outdoor labor in varying weather conditions
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and farm machinery for routine maintenance or repairs
